London Councils is launching a supplementary consultation on the future scope of the London Boroughs Grants Scheme. Designed as an addition to the original consultation that ran last year, the supplementary consultation is being launched following a High Court ruling that the original decision did not go into enough detail around equalities issues.
Subsequently, London Councils has sought legal advice and spoken to other organisations with a close understanding of the equalities field, to inform the supplementary consultation.
The supplementary consultation will run for a month and London Councils is urging all those working or with an interest in the voluntary sector to take part, particularly organisations who currently receive funding from the Scheme.
Responses to the previous consultation have provided us with important views on the proposed categorisation of service areas, and on the equalities impacts of each commission including responses from many commissioned organisations, which we will continue to take into account. The supplementary consultation invites those respondents who contributed to the main consultation to consider whether they wish to add to or amend previous responses seeking supplementary views on the proposed categorisation of each commission, and reasons for alternative categorisation where appropriate.
The closing date for responses was 5pm Friday 8 April 2011.
