This report outlines London Councils’ approach to supporting Executive Members and Party Groups in influencing the party manifestos ahead of the 2015 General Election
• Included is a description of the three main parties’ manifesto-writing processes and the work both planned and already undertaken to work with Members to influence these processes
Recommendations
Members are asked to:
1. Approve the key asks that officers will aim to see reflected in those manifestos as listed in pars 18-23, covering:
• Employment and welfare
• Skills and further education
• Housing and infrastructure, and
• A more devolved, integrated and democratically-led approach to the delivery of services locally
2. Note the work scheduled to achieve this
