The map of the Central London Cycling Grid has been published, with first improvements due before the end of 2014.
Plans for the Grid include new routes, traffic management to make certain roads more bike-friendly, and in some cases, simple signage to direct cyclists to quieter, more pleasant routes.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has written of his hope that these will be “routes for a new kind of cyclist; routes for people who want to cycle slowly, in their ordinary clothes, away from most of the traffic.”
