£17m of cycling improvements for London boroughs

  • By admin

London boroughs have been awarded additional funds to implement local cycling improvements.

The funding, to be provided over a period of three years, aims to increase the number of cyclists, and improve accessibility and safety. In addition, some boroughs will offer HGV drivers specific cyclist awareness training to help reduce the number of accidents involving lorries. A breakdown of the amount of funds awarded to each borough is available online.

This investment is in addition to the measures already announced in the Mayor of London’s Cycling Vision. Following the recently unveiled plans for the Central London Cycling Grid, an announcement on the chosen boroughs for the Mini-Holland fund to create cycling havens is expected in the next few weeks.
