 “The Chancellor’s statement recognised the acute housing challenges London is facing. However, it was inadequate in the context of London’s housing crisis. The capital’s population is set to increase to over nine million by 2021, meaning 800,000 homes are needed to meet both existing and future demand. (1)

New borough Horizon 2020 funding bids submitted

Six bids involving London boroughs have been submitted under the Horizon 2020 funding programme. 

Since the launch of Horizon 2020 in December 2013, LEPT has been working on behalf of boroughs on a new bid as project coordinator, and using our networks to broker places for boroughs in bids that meet with their priorities.

Lack of affordable housing undermining life sciences 'hub'

A lack of decent, affordable housing in London is undermining the capital’s position as a hub for the flourishing life sciences sector, according to a paper being presented to the London Health Board published today.

The paper updating board members on the life sciences sector highlights a lack of affordability of accommodation in relation to other British and international locations and recommends some innovative solutions, including construction of affordable campus-style apartments.
